  82. 'Software' or 'Program' means the ChaoSoft software product
  83. File Manager StepUp (FM StepUp), including both the software and the
  84. associated documentation and other materials;

  86. 'Unregistered Copy' means a copy of the Program you obtained from
  87. us or other source for evaluation purposes and which is described
  88. as "Unregistered copy" in the 'About' screen. An Unregistered Copy
  89. may be converted to registered one by supplying a name of a
  90. registered user or institution and a correct Registration Code,
  91. which may be obtained from ChaoSoft or its authorized dealer(s).
  92.  
  93. 'Registered Copy' means a copy of the Program registered with
  94. ChaoSoft or with its authorized dealer, and which is described as
  95. "Registered to: <user name>" in the 'About' screen. A Registered
  96. Copy may be unregistered by copying it to another disk or
  97. computer, or by removing the registration information from an
  98. initialization file.

  100. 'Registration Package' means all the materials you are obtaining
  101. from us after sending us your registration fee. In particular,
  102. Registration Package contains your personal Registration Code,
  103. allowing you to remove the registration reminder message and put
  104. your name in the 'About' screen.

  169. REGISTERED COPY USE LICENSE

  171. ChaoSoft grants to you the right to use a Registered Copy of the
  172. software, if you registered (purchased a license for continued use)
  173. with us or our authorized dealer and obtained your Registration

  177. computer (for example, desktop system and portable notebook),
  178. provided that you are the only user of those computers and there
  179. is no possibility to use the Registered Copy by anybody else.

  183. have purchased a site license.

  192. Multi-User and Network Use.

  195. agree not to use the Program on more computers than the number
  196. specified in your site license. You may install the Program on
  197. computers attached to a network, or remove it from one computer

  199. POSSIBILITY that your copy will be installed or used on more
  200. computers than it is licensed for.  If you have a network, you
  201. don't need to include every computer attached to the network in
  202. your license, but you must include every computer on which the
  203. Program is installed or used, regardless of whether the user of
  204. the computer happens to know that the Program is in use on their
  205. system.  If you have single computers which allow multiple users
  206. to use the Program simultaneously, you must count each keyboard or
  207. terminal separately when determining how many computers are using
  208. the Program.

  210. LIMITED DISTRIBUTION LICENSE

  267. Program. This warranty does NOT apply to Unregistered Copies of

  270. Satisfaction Guarantee.  If you are dissatisfied with any product

  272. return it at any time up to 30 days after purchase and we will
  273. give you a refund. Refunds will be based on the price you paid,
  274. with shipping costs excluded.  You must contact us before
  275. returning any product for a refund. This satisfaction guarantee
  276. does not apply to multi-system licenses for more than 10
  277. computers, or to purchases of more than 10 individual copies at a

  280. Physical Defects.  We pledge that the disks, if any, and any
  281. printed material we send you will arrive free of physical defects
  282. which interfere with normal use. If you find such a defect and
  283. report it to us within 30 days after you get your Registration
  284. Package, we agree to replace the defective item(s) at no charge to
  285. you as long as the defect was not caused by misuse or abuse.

  287. Bugs and Program Errors.  We don't promise that the Software will
  288. be free of bugs or program errors, and you agree that bugs or
  289. program errors will not be considered as "physical defects" in the
  290. program. We agree that if you report a program error or bug to us,
